Week 4 - Mid-Year Examinations of Form 1- 3!
21/08/2023 - Monday The official assembly was postponed and replaced by a disciplinary briefing. The exam for Form 1 - 3 has begun today. I got my relief class, which is 1 Anggerik. This was the moment that I can remember because I entered the wrong class. I entered class form 4, but alhamdulillah, the teacher who was supposed to be in class form 4 came back to check the electricity for block C. I told the teacher I had entered the wrong class and should have entered 1 Anggerik. Alhamdulillah, I entered the correct class at last. My class for today was 1 Alamanda and 3 Anggerik. Bot of my class have an exam so this whole week. I don't teach them. For class 1 Alamanda, that time was exam Bahasa Melayu Paper 2. I panicked because there was no foolscap paper for them to write. Week 3 of Practicum!
14/8/2023 - Monday Election holiday throughout Selangor. 15/8/2023 - Tuesday I got my relief class and taught 1 Alamanda Literature about Fair's Fair character and characteristics. My students were very active when I told them to present the characters and characteristics, but they were very slow when I told them to do a mind map of characters and characteristics. Mid-Year examination of form 4 and 5 begin today. 16/8/2023 - Wednesday I got my class relief, taught 3 Anggerik speaking topics, A Place to Call Home, and gave 1 Alamanda revision exam. I planned to teach them, but I changed to a revision exam for them. This is because, before my class for 1 Alamanda, Kak Ilyana suddenly told me to give revision for the exam to 3 Anggerik, but my class for 3 Anggerik had done. Kak Ilyana said this Friday, I can provide them with a revision for their upcoming exam. I considered doing a revision exam for 1 Alamanda and told Kak Suriani about this. Week 2 - Start Teaching!
7/8/2023 - Monday (Ice breaking) First, I got my class relief, and it was also my first day teaching in class. My class for today was from 10:30 AM until 11:50 AM, Form 1 Alamanda. I didn't teach them for my first class, but I wanted to do an ice-breaking with them. I ask the students to introduce their friends by writing their names, nicknames, hobbies, where they live, how many siblings they have, and their favorite food and drink. When I started the ice breaking, the class was noisy, and I couldn't manage the class, but after many times, I tried to control the class, and I finally managed the class, although the class was noisy again after a few minutes. Kak Ilyana mentioned that some students at 3 Anggerik could speak English fluently, and I was so nervous because I don't speak English fluently, and my grammar is not that good. 31/7/2023 (Monday, ROS Day 1) On the first day, I came to SMK Tasek Permai, Ampang, at 6:50 AM with Mazariah. We asked the cleaner where the office is. Then, we follow the official assembly held every Monday. On that day, the school had the inauguration of Independence Month. Some students were doing "Sajak," and there was an exceptional performance from Kadet Polis. After the assembly, Mazariah and I met the principal, Puan Sarbanun, and senior administrative assistant, Puan Salina, to report ourselves to the school. After discussing our practicum with them, I met Cik Azlina, a teacher of language subjects in the school. She shows us the school, classroom, toilet and many more. Cik Azlina shows us our table in the teacher's room. My table is next to the co-curricular secretary, and she was a Bahasa Melayu teacher. We discuss the classes that I will be teaching and so on.
