Week 2 - Start Teaching!
7/8/2023 - Monday (Ice breaking)
- First, I got my class relief, and it was also my first day teaching in class. My class for today was from 10:30 AM until 11:50 AM, Form 1 Alamanda. I didn't teach them for my first class, but I wanted to do an ice-breaking with them. I ask the students to introduce their friends by writing their names, nicknames, hobbies, where they live, how many siblings they have, and their favorite food and drink. When I started the ice breaking, the class was noisy, and I couldn't manage the class, but after many times, I tried to control the class, and I finally managed the class, although the class was noisy again after a few minutes.
- Kak Ilyana mentioned that some students at 3 Anggerik could speak English fluently, and I was so nervous because I don't speak English fluently, and my grammar is not that good. In class, I also didn't teach them; instead, I wanted to do an ice-breaking session with them. I introduced myself first, and I asked students to introduce themself.
8/8/2023 - Tuesday (First Day Teaching)
- I got my second-class relief. My class for this day is only one, which is 1 Alamanda. I teach them to write a review by using also and too, past simple verbs, and could and couldn't. I need to walk around when I teach them because the students said my voice was not louder. Then, I also needed to walk around to see whether they were doing the tasks I gave them. Some students didn't pay attention to me and played with others.
9/8/2023 - Wednesday (Second Day Teaching)
- Again, I got my third class relief. My class for this day has two, which are 3 Anggerik and 1 Alamanda. I teach 3 Anggerik about grammar, the simple future tense (will and be going to). This was my first day teaching 3 Anggerik, and I'm not nervous anymore. Alhamdulillah, the lesson went well, but the class ended very quickly. And some students were talking, and it became noisy.
10/8/2023 - Thursday (Third Day Teaching)
