Become an English Teacher! (Week 1)

31/7/2023 (Monday, ROS Day 1)

• On the first day, I came to SMK Tasek Permai, Ampang, at 6:50 AM with Mazariah. We asked the cleaner where the office is. Then, we follow the official assembly held every Monday. On that day, the school had the inauguration of Independence Month. Some students were doing "Sajak," and there was an exceptional performance from Kadet Polis. After the assembly, Mazariah and I met the principal, Puan Sarbanun, and senior administrative assistant, Puan Salina, to report ourselves to the school. After discussing our practicum with them, I met Cik Azlina, a teacher of language subjects in the school. She shows us the school, classroom, toilet and many more. 
• Cik Azlina shows us our table in the teacher's room. My table is next to the co-curricular secretary, and she was a Bahasa Melayu teacher. We discuss the classes that I will be teaching and so on. After the discussion, Cik Azlina invited us to eat at the canteen. Over there, I met some teachers. I greet, talk, and introduce myself to them. Thank you, Cik Azlina, for treating me and Mazariah. ;) Afterward, Mazariah and I returned to our seats in the teacher's room. That's all for that day. 
  
  
  

1/8/2023 (Tuesday, ROS Day 2)

• Every Tuesday, the second day, there will be an English day before the students go to the class. The students need to sing the Ost Fifa - Dreamers. After the English day, Mazariah and I visited the principal to ask for her signature and cop to verify our document teaching permit. Then, we go back to our seats, and I also get to know other teachers. After recess, Mazariah and I met with Puan Norhayati, Senior Assistant Curriculum, to ask about co-curricular and sports held on Thursday (3.8.2023). We wanted to know our tasks on the sports day, so Puan Norhayati gave us a task and "rumah sukan." My sport during the sports day was "Nilam," which was blue, and I was also assigned to help teacher Asma print the certificates for the sports day. We met with teacher Asma, and she said that we will print the certificates tomorrow. At 2 pm, I went to the meeting, and the session was about to ensure that all tasks had made final preparations. At that time, I was given my duties during the sport changed to keeping track of race times by Puan Norhayati. This is because there was a teacher who was absent on that day. The meeting ended at 4 pm, and Mazariah and I went home.

2/8/2023 (Wednesday, ROS Day 3)

• On the third day of ROS, the students have sports training from 8.30 AM until 9.30 AM. Mazariah and I go to the gathering place of Nilam. The teacher who came to the gathering place told us to watch the sports parade on the field. At there, all "rumah sukan" gather for training. I was fascinated to see them do parade sports training. After that, all students and teachers have a short break before class starts after recess. Mazariah and I didn't know what to do, and we were bored. Then, we met Kak Suriani to help her decorate the sports banner and help students decorate their costumes. In the evening, club and association activities are held (to take attendance only) and after that sports training starts at 4 PM. 

3/8/2023 (Thursday, ROS Day 4)

4/8/2023 (Friday, ROS Day 5)

• They will have reading Yassin in the morning before class starts. Mazariah and I asked permission from the principal to manage the document teaching permit forms at UPTM. When we get the principal's approval, we go directly to UPTM. Then, we go back to school again, and guess what? Mazariah and I have a class schedule already. I asked Kak Suriani and Kak Ilyana how far they had been teaching so that I can make my lesson plan to teach 1 Alamanda and 3 Anggerik.
